Meet Owner/Certified Pilates Instructor Ashley Hayes
Pilates of Forest Acres founder and owner Ashley Hayes is a graduate of Columbia College, where she obtained a degree in dance. Her love for dance prompted her to move to California to pursue a dance career. It was in California that she was introduced to & fell in love with Pilates. Hayes received her Pilates Certification in 2001 from Mercy Sidbury in Northern California. By fusing her enthusiasm for dance and growing passion in Pilates, she discovered the Feldenkrais Method, the Skinner release technique, and other modalities that have molded her signature teaching style. After her accomplishments in the Westcoast, she wanted to share her gift with the Midlands. Hayes opened her home-based boutique Pilates studio in 2007 and has dedicated her career to correcting muscle imbalances and changing lives by teaching body mechanics. These techniques enable clients to experience the liberty of pain-free movement. For the athlete, both collegiate and professional, and life-long sports enthusiasts, Hayes, teaches techniques to improve athletic performance. She teaches Golfers how to strengthen their hip flexors, allowing a more fluid swing to improve their handicap. For Baseball and Basketball players, Hayes stresses the importance of a stabilized core/trunk region to increase propulsion and dynamic power. During off-season and the active season, the body can benefit from the body maintenance of Pilates. Hayes is actively seeking clients undergoing Physical Therapy and athletes.
